How Long Does It Take To Build?
Once your design and specifications are signed off, a typical 4 Rivers home takes around 12 weeks to build.
Customisation, consent requirements and the complexity of your build can affect the timeframe, but we’ll give you a clear timeline before construction begins.
What Can I Customise?
Unlike many options out there, you can customise a lot of our 4 Rivers Tiny Homes.
Start with one of our existing designs and make it your own: from layouts and storage to windows, cladding, colours, cabinetry and finishing details. Or, if our existing plans aren’t quite right, talk to us about designing something more custom.
Where Do You Deliver?
We build our homes in Murchison, Tasman, and can arrange delivery to sites throughout New Zealand.
Transport costs vary depending on your home and destination, so talk to us about where you’re based and we can help work through the logistics.
Do I Need A Consent?
This will depend on the home, how it’s installed, what it’s being used for and the requirements of your local council.
We can help you understand what may be required for your build, but it’s always worth confirming the final requirements for your specific site.
Is There A Warranty /Guarantee?
We build for the long term, and that peace of mind continues well beyond the day your home leaves our Murchison yard. Appliances, joinery and other key components are covered by their respective manufacturers, with additional workmanship cover from 4 Rivers Homes. Your home is fully insured until the moment we hand you the keys.
Do I Need A Foundation?
Most 4 Rivers homes can be built on trailers with wheels for easy transportation, while others can be installed on a more permanent foundation or pile system. We can talk through the best option for your site and plans.
Can I Finance A Tiny Home?
Financing a tiny home can work differently from financing a conventional property, particularly if the home is relocatable.
We recommend talking to your lender or finance adviser early, and we can provide the plans, specifications and build information they may need.
Are The Homes Insulated?
Absolutely. Comfort is one of the things we take seriously.
Our homes use structural insulated panels (SIPs) to create a highly insulated building envelope, combined with quality thermally-broken double glazing to help keep your home warmer through winter and cooler through summer.
